Air fryer Breakfast Potatoes (Home Fries)
In our house, Sunday mornings mean a nice big family breakfast! Saturday my husband usually works, errands to do or my son has swim class, so Sunday is relaxing in your PJs type of morning!
Is it breakfast without home fries? Home fries in the air fryer are a game-changer because they are quick and crispy like the diner!
What do you need?
1 1/2 cups of red potatoes (I like red potatoes because you do not need to peel them but russets would work as well)
1 large sweet onion
1 red bell pepper
1/2 tbsp. of southwestern seasoning
1/2 tbsp. of Mrs. Dash
1/2 tbsp. of Salt
1/2 tbsp. of Pepper
1/2 tbsp. of Garlic Powder
3 teaspoons of Oil
Start preheating your Air Fryer 390 degrees, this is an important step you do not want to miss!
* I just got this Ninja Air Fryer / Smart Grill a few weeks ago - and so far I love it.
Time to start cutting up your onion, pepper, and potatoes, cut the potatoes less than an inch thick and wide. This will allow them to cook quicker, the smaller they are.
Note: Do not add the pepper this will be added in later.
Add the diced-up potatoes, oil, seasonings, and onion to a bowl.
Mix well to make sure the potatoes are well coated.
Once your air fryer is preheated - add the potatoes to the air fryer on 390 for 12 minutes.
If you want to bring the potatoes to the next level, add in some bacon grease! I make my bacon in the microwave* and after my first batch, I throw the remaining grease over the potatoes. Next Level I promise you!!!
Stir every few minutes. After 12 minutes the potatoes should be turning brown and looking crispy.
Lower the heat to 360 degrees and add the peppers to the potatoes. Mix all contents well. Continue to cook for another 10 minutes.
Your home fries are done when they looks crispy and browned! Add salt and pepper and serve!
