Crispy green beans with fried onions
Do you think of green bean casserole when you think of Thanksgiving? How about a lightening up version? Let's bring this simple side dish to your family's table. This is toddler and dogs approved!

What do you need?
2 cups of green beans
Salt
Pepper
Oil
1/2-1 cup of Gourmet Fried Onion Pieces (I used the Trader Joes Brand)
* A frying pan with a top
Trim the ends on your green beans.
In a frying pan over medium heat, place your trimmed green beans with a little oil then put the top on.
Leave on the stove for 15-20 minutes stirring every few minute, allowing the beans to crisp up!
Add fried onions (your preference on how much, more is better over here ;) ) start with a 1/2 cup then add as you see fit. (always start small, you can always add.)
Cook with the top of the pan on for another 3-4 minutes.
Remove from heat, you can leave the top on if your main dish needs more time.
Plate and serve
